Hi there!
Last Thursday, Rick Ernst came and spoke in the library for career day. He is a game designer for Riot! Games and shared with the students all about what it takes to make it in the gaming industry.
On Friday, YA (Young Adult) novelist C. Alexander London came to talk to the Spoilers about being a writer and his new book, Proxy. His advice to them was that if there isn't a book written that you need to read, then it's up to you to write it! He stayed after school and signed the first chapter of his book, which he brought for them. His books are also being sold at our book fair.
Our book fair is up and running! Our goal is to sell $1500 in books. I set the goal low this time because of all the other activities going on around campus at this time. We are currently at $639.99, so I have no doubt that we will make our goal! The book fair will run until Friday, May 12. Please come and see all the great books we have to offer!
During the book fair, the library is closed for book check out and computer use. After the book fair is completed, no more books will be checked out for the remainder of the year, so that students have time to return books.
Book bins are due from advisory teachers of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students on May 26.
Book bins are due from senior advisory teachers on May 19. Please remember that students can NOT graduate if they owe the library books or fines and make sure your team gets their books in so that I can document in Destiny (our book-tracking program) who owes what.

Past updates can be found on my new website, Skipping to the Good Part Chronicle at http://skippingtothegoodpartnewsletter.weebly.com/
